"Country Boy"
Rescued Senior Rottweiler

AKC Canine Good Citizen

Meet "Country Boy"!  He is my Rescued Senior Rottweiler.

We guesstimate he was 10 years old when he was adopted in 2014.

Country Boy was abandoned at a shelter in Midland, Texas.
Because of his age and breed, he wasn't given more than the mandatory hold time.
Angels went to work swiftly for Country Boy - I adopted him on the day he was to be euthanized.

Shortly after Country Boy came home, he went through extensive vetting.
He went through X-rays, ultrasounds, tests and a thorough blood panel.
It was determined that he should have 5 masses with "suspicious cells" surgically removed, and was in need of a dental cleaning.
Through the generous Rottweiler and canine community, this was possible because of their donations to Country Boy's care.
Country Boy was deemed cancer-free, the masses were ALL benign.

That was 2 years ago.
Today, Country Boy is a healthy, happy dog who enjoys his days being spoiled,
watching over and frolicking on his ranch with his pals, Luna, Moonshine and Sue.
Country Boy loves to go swimming in the river, or at the dock diving pool.
He loves his meals and tells me it's 5:00 pm, ON THE DOT, with his very entertaining dinner dance.

Country is a glorious dog! He is steady, calm, trusting and a joy to be with.
He and I forged an immediate bond that was as strong as any ties could ever be.
He has also become quite the living legend and has a large circle of friends.
Country is a great Ambassador for the Rottweiler breed, and a blessed gift from my angel, Cash.

I hope Country Boy's story brings you hope and happiness, and that it encourages you to rescue a senior.

Country loved a lot about life, nothing more than me. Thank you Country Boy, for you.

"Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no, it is an ever-fixed mark,
That looks on tempests, and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved."
